Community Circle - Autumn Observation & Art Class

Conversation Leader: Kate MacGillivary

It’s time to unleash your inner Picasso!

Kate is an artist, farmer, landscaper and teacher. For almost 20 years, she has created, managed and revamped gardens and landscapes with her primary business, Plant Manager Studio, LLC.

For this gathering Kate will share her love of colored pencils, eye for detail, and techniques in observing & capturing nature in the fall! Whatever inspires you in nature will lead to learning how to use colored pencils to create a fall observation journal or a single subject artwork. Kate will assist you with observing/picking a subject or subjects, drawing them, and then using colored pencils/watercolor pencils to finish your work. This could be the beginning of a Perpetual Journal for you as well. Class may include a walk to observe/take pictures/gather a subject.

Kate will have art supplies on hand for purchase; otherwise, please plan to bring your own supplies to the event.

Enjoy a variety of teas, coffee & light snacks at this intimate gathering.

Reserve your spot in advance as space is limited.

Simplified Strength Training - 4 Key Principles

Conversation Leader: Danielle Kroot, PT, DPT, Cert DN, Run Coach

September 7th

5:30 - 7:30PM

In-person & ZOOM

There is an abundance of exercise information available but can often be tricky to know what to focus on. What can we trust? How do we get started? Excitingly, we have a discussion leader, Danielle, who will guide us in comprehending this subject better. She will simplify creating a workout plan by highlighting 4 essential principles that will help you create a sustainable strength program. Strength training can help each and every one of us no matter what our goals are, and I invite you to join us in building a stronger foundation of knowledge to get stronger together.

Danielle Kroot is a physical therapist, running coach, and owner of Starting Line PT and Performance. Since graduating from Sacred Heart University where she earned both her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Exercise Science she has worked to develop her skills through mentorships and courses in manual therapy, dry needling, strength and conditioning, running gait mechanics, pain science, running video analysis and the management of common running injuries.

Do you have questions in advance? Send them along via the CONTACT tab and we’ll address as many as we can during our time together.

Plan on a casual gathering of learning, conversation, and a little bit of movement (so you can dress in comfy clothes). Bring your favorite camp/lawn chair and make yourself at home here in the yard.

Please plan to attend via Zoom if you’re unable to attend in person.
